EXPLORE MEXICO’S NEW ADMINISTRATION’S FUTURE WHILE DISCOVERING MEXICO CITY

MEXICO’S NEW PRESIDENT With the inauguration of Mexico’s new president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Mexico is facing its first political transition after implementing a landmark energy reform. In the past, President López Obrador was an outspoken critic of the reform, but he tempered his objections during the 2018 presidential race. There is uncertainty about the future not only of energy in Mexico but of other business policies. The cancellation of the construction of the new Mexico City airport further caused uncertainty. Now is the time to consider the future of Mexico, Texas’ largest trading partner. This trip to Mexico City will provide the perfect opportunities to do so.

OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE THE LEGAL AND GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENTS IN MEXICO AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF ITS NEW PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATION

What will Mexico’s new administration mean for Texas? We invite you and a guest to join ILS as we explore this question alongside Mexican lawyers, businessmen, and officials in historic and beautiful Mexico City. We know “everything is bigger in Texas” and the impact of Mexico’s election could be felt in a “big” way across the border. Don’t miss this opportunity to travel, network and learn about important legal and policy developments in Mexico following the installation of the new administration. Topics to be covered include international arbitration, FCPA compliance, immigration, international human rights, trade and conducting business in Mexico. Two half-day CLE Seminars on: Energy, Anti-Corruption, Labor and Immigration, Tax and the Future of Fracking in Mexico (presented by Nonresident Fellow in Energy Studies at the Baker Institute, Anna Mikulska)

  • Featuring speakers from both sides of the Texas and Mexico border.
  • Programs open to spouses and guests.
  • Convenient and affordable flights to Mexico City from Texas available.
  • Accommodations are available at the beautiful Camino Real Polanco.
