The State Bar of Texas International Law Section (ILS) seeks your support for its programs, which this year coincide with our 50th anniversary! Your generous contribution will enable the ILS to provide valuable services to our members year-round such as on-line and in-person Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events, an online newsletter and student scholarships. Sponsors will be recognized across ILS platforms and at our in-person and online events. All benefits must be used within the sponsorship period which ends November 30, 2026. Can we count on your support this year?
The ILS formed the International Human Rights Committee (IHRC) in August 2015 – the first of its kind among state bars – with the goals to study legal issues related to international human rights, and to inform and provide guidance to Texas lawyers on these issues. This 15-member committee oversees an annual essay contest in the spring which awards a $1,500 scholarship to a deserving Texas law student and holds CLE events to commemorate Human Rights Day (Dec. 10).
